Jesus: My Knight in Shining Armor

The storms of life are upon me, their waves are crashing over my head. I try to break free, to find air, but I am sucked under and swallowed by the waves.
How could I have drifted this far out to sea?
You told me to stay close to the shore.
You told me when it was safe to swim and when the current was too strong.
You warned me that it was not the right time,
"the current is too strong, it will over take you" you said.
You cried out for me not to enter the water.
I ignored your pleas, I was too head strong.
Now I am stranded, I am scared, death is surely before me.
Then I see you, Jesus.
You are standing right in the middle of the storm, the water completely calm where your feet are planted. You grab my hand and pull me into your side, cradling my exhausted body to shore. I ask "Why did you save me? I disobeyed, I deserved to die."
You looked to me and said "Because I Love you"

He will take pity on the weak and the needy, and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight -Psalm 72:13
